We’re starting to see Google’s latest overhaul of Merchant Center and we are really liking the new look and feel of it.
The change was made to the Feed Diagnostics section. Google not only cleaned up the aesthetics, but they also added a lot more ease to filtering (among a few other “upgrades”).
Tab for Issues
A major improvement over the previous UI, account owners can now tab between Item, Feed, and Account-level issues.
What’s also really nice is the aggregate reports added to the top (something originally only found in Multi Client Accounts) which indicate totals and percentages of specific statuses such as Active and Disapproved products.
The hover-over for the diagnostics chart is also super crisp and clean. Very helpful for tracking past changes and trends in feed status:
Filtering & Downloading
Filtering has been updated quite a bit and Google has also added an easy way to download a list of disapproved products based on their specific issues.
This should make for a much easier experience sifting through item-level disapproval reasons and, subsequently, should help retailers diagnose and fix those issues more quickly:
Downloads come in the form of CSV files which makes for more ease of use.
Change also went into viewing the sample list of affected items:
Again, we are loving these changes so far. Retailers should also find the new Merchant Center Diagnostics to be a substantial improvement.
We do expect that Google will slowly roll out even more updates to Merchant Center – whether they will be for this year or next only time will tell.
