Empowering Women: Celebrating International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is celebrated on the 8th of March every year to recognize the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world. It is also a day to raise awareness about the gender inequality that still exists in many parts of the world and to advocate for women’s rights.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is “Choose to Challenge.” This theme emphasizes the importance of challenging gender stereotypes, biases, and inequalities to create a more inclusive and gender-equal world.

At Sales & Orders, our goal is to challenge ourselves to continue to learn more about the role gender plays in our industry and how we can become more inclusive as these trends continue to change. We know that women play an important role in e-commerce. Research studies have shown that women do tend to shop online more frequently than men. According to a survey by BigCommerce, as of 2021, 70% of women made online purchases at least once a month, compared to 54% of men. Women are also more likely to browse and shop for products on social media platforms, such as Instagram and Pinterest, than men. Additionally, women tend to spend more time on shopping websites and are more likely to make multiple purchases in a single online session. For advertisers, since women are a crucial target audience for many products and services, businesses need to tailor their marketing strategies accordingly.

With women in leadership here at Sales & Orders, we strive to continue to support the research of understanding how to support women better all around. Here, women are at the forefront of our Customer Success Team, Marketing Team, and Leadership Team to work towards bringing the proper awareness to not only women consumers but to women-owned businesses as well.

To effectively market to women, businesses should consider a variety of communication channels such as paid search, social media, email marketing, and more that we could help you with. If you are a women-owned business or have products tailored for women consumers, call us. We’d love to cater a customized approach to your marketing efforts to help you expand in the right direction.
